E10: This refers to petrol (gasoline) blended with up to 10% ethanol. Ethanol is a biofuel typically derived
from
crops like corn or sugarcane. E10 is increasingly common as it's seen as a more environmentally friendly option
compared to pure petrol, as it reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
E5: Similar to E10, E5 denotes petrol blended with up to 5% ethanol. It's a less ethanol-rich blend compared to
E10. E5 is often preferred for older vehicles or those not designed to run on higher ethanol blends.
B7: This refers to diesel fuel containing up to 7% biodiesel. Biodiesel is derived from renewable sources such
as
vegetable oils or animal fats. Like ethanol in petrol, biodiesel in diesel fuel can reduce overall emissions,
particularly of greenhouse gases.
SDV: Super Diesel Variant (SDV) is a type of diesel fuel that typically has a higher cetane number, which
signifies better ignition quality. It's formulated to improve engine performance and efficiency, particularly in
modern diesel engines.
